Regional weather: Friday,
February 6 – TX/OK: Across the region today conditions will begin with
mostly sunny to sunny skies.
Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s warming towards this
afternoon and then tomorrow. Winds today
will be from the south and southwest with moderate levels across the Plateau
and in southern Oklahoma. The edge
commuunities will start with light conditions but will build towards this
afternoon. Tonight mostly clear skies
and mild conditions will occur. The low
temperatures across the region will drop into the lower 40s. Winds will be form the south and southwest at
light to moderate levels, 10 to 15 miles per hour. Tomorrow will be a repeat of today but with
high temperatures gaining by another 10 degrees. Areas will be in the mid to upper 70s with
the far west Plateau region pushing the low 80 degree mark. Winds will remain from the south at moderate
levels. The Dallas/Ft. Worth area should
have slightly stronger winds in the area.
Tomorrow night clear to mostly clear skies will occur. Low temperatures will drop into the upper 40s
and into the lower 50s. Winds will
remain at low to moderate conditions from the south. Overall very nice conditions heading into the
weekend.
Trajectory weather: Air
mass trajectories over the Edwards Plateau will be influenced by mostly sunny
skies today and tomorrow. Temperatures
today will be in the low to mid- 60s with southerly winds at moderate levels,
10 to 15 miles per hour on the Plateau and lesser levels in the surrounding
communities. Tonight skies will be clear
and temperatures will drop to the lower 40s on light and variable winds. Tomorrow sunny skies will return with
temperatures in the mid- 70s to upper 70s to low 8os in the area of the western
Plateau. Winds will be from the south at
10 to 15 miles per hour. Tomorrow night skies will be clear with temperatures in
the upper- 40s to low 50s. The
trajectories across the Edwards Plateau and in the surrounding communities move
to the north on the southerly winds but the air is dense and will be at ground
level.
OUTLOOK: ***Low Threat today and Low threat Tomorrow. Conditions will be very nice over the
weekend with warm weather and light to moderate winds. Recently, the pollen totals provided by local
samplers has begun to show a significant decrease in Juniper pollen indicating
the end of the juniper season. As we
approach the end of the season we will no longer provide forecasts after today,
Friday February 6th 2015. We
